4th Grade
In 4th grade, students deepen their understanding and become more independent, confident learners. Using the California Common Core State Standards, students read and analyze increasingly complex literature and informational texts, use evidence to support their ideas, and write clear, organized narratives, opinions, and informational pieces. In math, students develop skills with multi-digit multiplication and division, fractions, decimals, measurement, and geometry while applying strategies to solve real-world problems. Students also explore science and California history while strengthening critical thinking, collaboration, communication, goal-setting, and problem-solving skills. Throughout the year, students are encouraged to challenge themselves, persevere, and take ownership of their learning.
