After School Programs

 
Two after school playground programs are provided by the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Beyond the Bell Services Branch on a very limited basis.  Please see Coach Brianna or Coach Alfredo to obtain an application and get on the waiting list.   
 
Youth Development Program (YDP): Grades K-5
  • Operates from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

  • Four daily rotations led by trained coaches:

    1. Academic Assistance – hands‑on, standards‑based lessons in reading, math, science, and social studies.

    2. Homework Support – guided time to start and receive help with assignments.

    3. Recreation – structured physical activities promoting teamwork, fitness, and sportsmanship.

    4. Read‑Aloud – listening to rich‐text stories to build comprehension and character understanding 

  • Includes healthy snacks served daily  

 
Youth Services (YS): Grades 2-5
  • Operates from dismissal until 6:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday 
  • Daily offerings include playground games and sports (e.g. basketball, kickball, volleyball, flag football), arts and crafts, board games, intramural tournaments, and more!

  • Daily designated homework time 

  • Sports competition opportunities for boys and girls.

 
IMPORTANT:
  • Toys, electronics and valuables are not allowed.
  • Phones must be kept in student's backpack and can only be used in case of an emergency with the approval of a coach.
  • Coaches are provided with a cell phone to contact parents when needed.
  • Students must follow school and program rules at all times. If students break the rules a warning letter will be issued and if misbehavior continues they will be suspended from the program.
